Breakthrough Farming Solutions began life in 2012 when Principal Neil Hammond established the business as a specialist farm management and consulting service aimed at giving clients the benefits of his well-rounded agricultural experience.

BFS now provides specialist services to a wide range of clients across Australia and New Zealand.

Neil is supported by specialist administration staff who give him the capacity to provide quality advice and involvement in a range of high-level agricultural services including:

Our People

NEIL HAMMOND

Principal

BFS Principal Neil Hammond was born and bred on the farm. Born in New Zealand, Neil grew up in a farming family and after obtaining his Diploma of Agriculture, has amassed a wealth of on-farm experience, working in farming operations that achieve above-average production, growth and profitability.

On leaving school, Neil gained his diploma with specialist study in animal production and farm business management from the renowned Lincoln Agricultural College south of Christchurch. After three years as a Jackeroo in the New Zealand Southland, Neil spent five years as Livestock Manager on the famous Piri Piri prime lamb-producing station on the North Island and furthered his career as Farm Development Manager for Onepuke Livestock Ltd, where he was responsible for running 12,000 lambs and 800 cattle, and growing the 500-hectare operation.

After moving to Australia in 2003, he spent three years as Managing Director and Partner in a New Zealand overseas equity syndicate before accepting the role as Managing Director of Winberack Pastoral, a 700 hectare property in the western district of Victoria that turned over some 40,000 prime lambs and 4000 cattle annually. Neil and his family held significant equity in the joint venture operation and in addition to running the farm, he developed life-long relationships with key processors and marketers of livestock commodities.

DEL HAMMOND

Administration

Del is the administration support brains behind BFS. With a wealth of administration and financial management experience forged over many years, Del ensures BFS operations run smoothly.

Also born and bred on a farm, Del has grown up and lived much of her life within an agricultural environment. Her career began with the New Zealand Dairy Board Livestock Improvement Division where she started as a Laboratory Technician in the Herd testing department. Del worked her way up to the head of her department before leaving to continue her career in agriculture alongside Neil in their farming ventures.

Del’s role with BFS has been managing the administration side of the businesses including managing the cashbook, completing and lodging Business Activity Statements, managing the payroll, writing reports and recruiting staff.
